Explore SF Food Tours Presents: 24th Street Food Tour
Featuring "El Corazon de la Misione"," The Heart Of the Mission"

<Mission South Tour>

The best and most authentic food tours in San Francisco, Explore San Francisco Food Tours welcome you to experience the "Heart of the Mission" "El Corazon de La Mission".

It's true that the Mission District is the most "San Francisco" you can get in a neighborhood, more than just the stunning architecture, the fierce drive of the population, or the blend of cultures from around the planet, the Mission has  that essence that you can't quite put your finger on, but you know it because it takes you away with it. You become absorbed into the collective creativity and the passion of the street, you don't just walk down a sidewalk here, you observe everything, you take it in,   and you try to remember everything you see, because  you know it is completely unique and you may not encounter it ever again.

If the Mission is the most "San Francisco" of places, it follows that 24th Street is the most Mission of all streets.  After all, this historic, tree-lined street is known as "El Corazon de la Misione", or "the Heart of the Mission".  Running from Valencia Street to Potrero Street, 24th boasts a vast number of unique shops and restaurants, as well as the greatest concentration of murals in the city. This  area is the motherlode for Latin food and no one goes home hungry! This is the area where many of the newest culinary stars have chosen to set up shop, their smart and innovative new eateries add a nice contrast to this traditional neighborhood that has always had a robust food scene. This is the area of choice for the latest round of high-tech workers, but if they're really going to to stay, it's too soon to tell. This tour is a feast for your taste-buds as well as your eyes and takes you through the Precita Eyes Mural Project, these are the murals that started the movement and soon attracted international acclaim.

Tour Highlights:

See the neighborhood that is called the "Heart of the Mission"
Eat food from the most authentic Latin American eateries in the city
We will visit at least 5 different eateries and sample their creations
The owners and chefzcs of these fine establishments will visit with us & share their story, their inspiration and their vision for the future
See the Precita Eyes Mural Project, the mural project that started it all.
See 24th Street, rooted in Latin American culture yet home to many of the city's most innovative young chefs whose creativity knows no borders
Fun and interesting hIstorical information and neighborhood trivia, provided by knowledgable, friendly and entertaining guides
We're based in the Mission and all of our Mission District guides live here, we know this area better than anyone else

How to Get Here:

If you are taking Bart into the area, your stop for this tour would be the 24th Street Station, buses are numerous, the J-Church Muni Light Rail Service is almost a ten minute walk, biking couldn't be easier, and parking is not bad during the day, you see a parking garage at 21st & Bartlett.
